Well, if you've stopped by the etsy shop in the last 24 hours, you've noticed I'm on vacation.  Yup, that's right!  Just drinking Mai Tai's & laying in the sun...I WISH!  As if THAT could actually happen when you've got a 14 month old!  No, no...I'm on vacation in preparation for the upcoming school year.  As most of you know, I teach 4th grade, which means it's crunch time!  T-minus 3 weeks till the first day of school.

Though the shop will be closed for the next few weeks, I've been working on some {NEW} scrapbook designs for the shop.  Check 'em out!  Feedback is appreciated!

It's {Giveaway} Time: Educators Edition

Is it REALLY....dare I say it...time to go {Back to School}?!? That's right! Summer has come and gone {literally}, and it is time to get back into those classrooms, organize all your supplies, decorate your space, plan some {top notch} lessons to WOW your kiddos on those first few days back, and as you know...that leaves ZERO only a small amount of time for you. BUT...I have great news! My friend, Hope King from 2nd Grade Shenanigans, & I know a *little* something about how hard teachers work and how much blood sweat tears LOVE we pour into our classroom each year. {Baseball} Baby Shower

Last weekend the hubby & I hosted {our first-ever} couples baby shower...& boy, oh, boy...it was a treat!  Our good friends, Brittany & Greg, are expecting their first kiddo...little baby Owen...in late September.  We had a {Baseball Themed} event since the hubby & Greg played college ball together...what can I say...boys love imagining their future little sluggers becoming {MLB} all-stars!  The evening went without a hitch.  For a second there, I thought we might have a rain delay, but the weather cooperated nicely...even for a coastal {South Texas} night...in the middle of Summer, no less!!!

{When} Coral Meets Teal...Love at First Sight

We're Back!!!  After two weeks of vacation (in preparation for Kade's 1st birthday party), it was refreshing to reopen the etsy shop.  Today I went with Randi, from Two Chic Events, to meet with a prospective bride & groom.  They are planning a Shabby Chic November beach wedding on the Texas Coast.  They have the most {Fabulous} color scheme...Coral & Teal!  And the best part...the bride & groom are Aggies...{WHOOP}!!!  Here's a little inspirational board to help inspire those with a similar color palette.  Enjoy!

{New} Item in Etsy Shop!

I don't know what it is, but I've been bitten by the "shabby chic" bug lately.  Need proof?  Just check out my etsy shop!  I recently added yet another shabby (& oh-so-chic) {NEW} item to my shop...a Personalized Rustic Wreath!  It's PERFECT for year around use!  I went with a neutral palette since it will coordinate with just about everyones favorite color scheme.  ...& for $48 each, it's a steal deal!  Check it out!

{Ode} to Purple...Jute Letter, that is

Oh purple, how I love thee.  You're my favorite color & never let me down.  I had to share the jute letter I just completed for one of my customers.  She's going to use it at her wedding this weekend.  I LOVE the color palette (I wonder what gave you that impression)!  The deep shades of purple look great against the twine.  It's a great example of rustic chic!  Want your own jute letter for an upcoming event?  Check 'em out on my etsy shop!  Custom orders are my fav!

{Fun} with Photoshop Lightroom 4

This week I installed Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 onto my laptop.  Needless to say...I'm in LOVE...seriously, in love...like the kind of love where your heart skips a beat.  I had no idea that this software would be so easy to use AND make my pictures look effortless.  Just a few clicks & voila!  A new and much improved version of my original photographs.  Too cool!  Of course, I still have a TON to learn but I feel like I'm off to a good start.  If y'all have any tips/tricks/pointers/resources on Lightroom, I'm all ears!
